BANANA CRUMB MUFFINS

HIII GUYS :) JUST WANTED TO UPDATE YOU ON A QUICK, EASY, DELICIOUS RECIPE. THE RECIPE MADE ABOUT 11 MUFFINS FOR ME, & I FILLED MINE ABOUT 3/4 FULL. MY ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE MUFFIN RECIPE, THE MUFFINS ONLY LAST UNTIL THE NEXT DAY BEFORE THEY ARE ALL GONE! ENJOY =)

START OFF BY MIXING YOUR DRY INGREDIENTS IN A LARGE BOWL.
  • 1 1/2 CUPS OF ALL PURPOSE FLOUR.
    1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
    1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
    1/2 TEASPOON SALT

NEXT, MIX YOUR WET INGREDIENTS IN A MEDIUM BOWL.
    3 BANANAS, MASHED
    3/4 CUP OF WHITE SUGAR
    1 EGG
    1/3 CUP OF BUTTER, MELTED

LAST, MIX YOUR TOPPING IN A SMALL BOWL.
1/3 CUP OF BROWN SUGAR, PACKED
    2 TABLESPOONS OF FLOUR
    1/8 TEASPOON CINNAMON
    1 TABLESPOON BUTTER, MELTED

PREHEAT OVEN TO 375. LIGHTLY GREASE 10 MUFFIN CUPS, OR LINE WITH MUFFIN PAPERS. MAKE SURE WET INGREDIENTS ARE INCORPORATED AND BANANA'S ARE MASHED. STIR THE BANANA MIXTURE INTO THE FLOUR MIXTURE JUST UNTIL MOISTENED.

NOW HERE COMES THE HARDEST PART... FILLING THE MUFFIN TINS WITHOUT MAKING A MESS (I ALWAYS FAIL AT THIS PART)

AFTER YOU'VE FILLED YOUR TINS, YOU WANT TO MELT 1 TABLESPOON OF BUTTER FOR YOUR TOPPING. ONCE ITS MELTED, MIX IT IN WITH YOUR BROWN SUGAR, FLOUR, AND CINNAMON. MIX TOGETHER, AND THEN GENEROUSLY ADD IT TO THE TOP OF THE MUFFINS. :)

BAKE FOR 18-20 MINUTES, OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL FOR 10 MINUTES, AND ENJOY :)

A VERY SIMPLE, EASY AND YUMMY TREAT TO MAKE ANY TIME OF THE DAY. NOW, IM OFF TO MY KITCHEN AND ILL BE BACK WITH ANOTHER POST SOON :)

SUGAR DROP COOKIES

THIS IS A SPECIAL RECIPE THAT I REALLY WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU GUYS. IT'S JUST A SIMPLE (REALLY SIMPLE) BUT DELICIOUS COOKIE RECIPE FROM MY GRANDMA. WE USED TO ALWAYS MAKE IT TOGETHER WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. THE RECIPE CROSSED MY MIND THE OTHER DAY, SO I DECIDED TO CALL HER AND ASK ABOUT THE RECIPE SO I COULD MAKE IT AGAIN. HERE IT IS...

YOU'RE GOING TO NEED -
2 EGGS
2/3 CUP OF OIL
2 TSP OF VANILLA
1 TSP LEMON ZEST
3/4 CUP OF SUGAR
2 CUPS FLOUR (SIFTED)
2 TSP BAKING POWDER
1/2 TSP SALT

1/4 CUP OF SUGAR
1/4 CUP OF OIL

HEAT YOUR OVEN TO 400. BEAT YOUR EGGS, THEN ADD YOUR VANILLA, OIL & LEMON ZEST.

ADD THE SUGAR AND MIX. SIFT THE FLOUR, SALT, AND BAKING POWDER. ADD TO EGG MIXTURE.

I REALLY, REALLY LIKE TO POST STEP BY STEP PICTURES. I KNOW IT MAKES THINGS EASIER FOR ME WHEN IM MAKING A NEW RECIPE. OKAY ANYWAYS, MEASURE THE OIL AND SUGAR OUT INTO SEPARATE BOWLS. DROP ABOUT 1 TSP OF COOKIE DOUGH ONTO AN UN GREASED BAKING SHEET, ABOUT 2 INCHES APART. DIP A FLAT BOTTOM CUP INTO THE OIL AND THEN INTO THE SUGAR AND PRESS DOWN ON EACH DROP OF DOUGH. MAKE SURE NOT TO PRESS TOO HARD, YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE THE COOKIES TOO THIN.

YOU CAN EITHER DECORATE THEM WITH CUTE SPRINKLES, OR DUST THEM WITH SOME SUGAR ON TOP. I MADE A FEW OF EACH. BAKE THEM AT 400 DEGREES FOR 8-10 MINUTES. I TOOK MINE OUT AT EXACTLY 8 MINUTES FOR A CHEWY, SOFT MIDDLE.

I EVEN HAD A CUTE LITTLE HELPER TODAY IN THE KITCHEN. (PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I AM A DIE HARD ANGELS FAN, AND ONLY PUT HER IN THIS SHIRT BECAUSE OF MY FIANCE)

IM OFF TO THE KITCHEN AGAIN TO GET STARTED ON A HALLOWEEN CAKE!
HAVE A GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE, I WILL UPDATE TOMORROW!

LUCKY CHARM BARS

HIIII EVERYONE :)
SO I WAS CLEANING OUT MY PANTRY AND CAME ACROSS SOME LUCKY CHARMS CEREAL. I HARDLY EVER EAT CERIAL, AND THERE ARE NO KIDS IN MY HOUSE SO I WAS LOOKING INTO SOME RECIPES TO USE UP THE CEREAL BEFORE IT WENT STALE. EARLIER IN THE DAY I WAS AT TARGET AND PICKED UP SOME BAGS OF MARSHMALLOWS THAT WERE ON SALE FOR ONLY .75 CENTS! I GRABBED A FEW BAGS, OF COURSE.

ANYWAYS, I FOUND A RECIPE FOR SOME LUCKY CHARM CEREAL BARS. WHATS BETTER THEN LUCKY CHARMS, MELTED MARSHMALLOWS & CHOCOLATE?

THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO NEED...

5 CUPS OF LUCKY CHARMS (OR ANY OTHER CEREAL, BE CREATIVE!)
2 1/2 CUPS OF MARSHMALLOWS (I USED 3 CUPS, JUST BECAUSE I LIKE MINE A LITTLE MORE GOOEY)
2 TABLESPOONS OF BUTTER
WILTON CHOCOLATE MELTS (YOUR CHOICE OF COLOR)
SPRINKLES

YOU CAN USE ANY PAN OF YOUR CHOICE. DEPENDING ON HOW THICK YOU WANT YOUR BARS. MAKE SURE TO BUTTER YOUR PAN VERY, VERY WELL.
BUTTER YOUR MIXING BOWL, YOUR BOWL THAT CONTAINS THE MARSHMALLOWS & YOUR MIXING SPOON AS WELL.

MELT YOUR MARSHMALLOWS AND BUTTER IN THE MICROWAVE. STIR AT EVERY 15 SECONDS UNTIL COMPLETELY MELTED. MEANWHILE, MEASURE OUT 5 CUPS OF YOUR CEREAL AND POUR INTO YOUR MIXING BOWL.

NOW POOR THE MELTED MARSHMALLOWS INTO THE CEREAL.... & MIX TOGETHER

ONCE IT'S ALL MIXED TOGETHER, POOR IT INTO YOUR BUTTERED PAN. YOU CAN USE YOUR SPOON TO PRESS THE MIXTURE DOWN INTO THE PAN... OR RUB BUTTER ON YOUR (CLEAN) HANDS AND USE YOUR HANDS INSTEAD :)

ONCE YOUR MIXTURE HAS COOLED, YOU CAN MELT YOUR CHOCOLATE IN THE MICROWAVE & DRIZZLE IT ON TOP OF THE BAR MIXTURE. THEN ADD SOME PRETTY LITTLE SPRINKLES OF YOUR CHOICE.

PULL THEM OUT WHEN YOU'RE READY, CUT THEM INTO BARS HOWEVER YOU'D LIKE.

I SET A COUPLE ON THE KITCHEN TABLE FOR MY FIANCE, AND THE OTHERS I WRAPPED UP FOR MY GIRLS AT WORK. (SORRY ABOUT THE HORRIBLE PICTURE QUALITY ON THIS LAST PICTURE)

A SIMPLE AND EASY BUT DELICIOUS RECIPE! PERFECT FOR ANY OCCASION! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED, AND HAVE A WONDERFUL REST OF THE WEEK.

I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK WHEN I CAN :)

THE BEGINNING -

Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Kristine, and I am the owner of Made of Lovee bakery & catering. :) We do not currently have a store front (yet), so all of our business is online. I've been cooking & baking for a little over 2 years. One night I pulled out a cookbook and just decided to make pretty much everything the book contained. I learned that cooking and baking helped me clear my mind. I love experimenting with new flavors and ideas, I don't just do it because it's something I'm good at but it's something that I truly enjoy. I attended The Art Institute for about a year... and realized the school wasn't right for me. I felt like I wasn't learning the things that would help me with my career. I've taught myself everything I know from online, and my knowledge is still expanding. I plan to go back to school for my business and hopefully open up a restaurant. Okay, enough about me...

Well I decided to finally start a blog. I kept putting it off, but I'm hoping it won't be too much for me to handle. :)

I AM SO EXCITED FOR FALL! I'm over this summer heat. I just want it to be cold outside & have the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon apple taking over my house! I have LOTS of idea's on my to-do list for this season. And I can't wait to share them all with you!

Until next time ... :)
